October is Filipino American History Month!

Throughout Brea Olinda Unified School District, we’re celebrating the rich history, culture, traditions and contributions of Filipino Americans.

From the classroom to our school communities, this month is an opportunity to learn about the people, stories and experiences that have helped shape our nation and continue to inspire future generations.

Next week we have STEAM Night with Child Creativity Lab. This gives our Laurel Leopards an exciting opportunity to learn by doing! Through hands-on activities that combine Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, students are encouraged to ask questions, experiment, design, create, and solve problems. Experiences like these help students see that learning isn't just about finding the right answer—it's about being curious, trying new ideas, learning from mistakes, and thinking creatively. STEAM Night also connects beautifully to Laurel's Career Exploration and Innovation magnet theme by helping students discover their interests and see how STEAM skills are used in real-world careers. Most importantly, families get to learn and create together, making STEAM a shared experience that inspires curiosity and innovation beyond the classroom. Sign up now!
