Welcome to Mrs. Germann's Class
Welcome to 6th grade! My name is Mrs. Germann and I am very excited to be teaching 6th grade at Laurel Elementary Magnet School.
To start off, I would like to tell you little bit about myself both personally and professionally. I am originally from the Midwest. I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia for my undergraduate work and teaching credential. I later completed my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Baker University. I have taught 6th, 5th, 2nd, and 1st grades over the past 25 years. Since coming to Laurel I have been the Reading Intervention Specialist working with students across all grade levels and most recently I taught 6th grade. My husband and I moved to California three years ago and we love it here! We have two children, a son Tyler (25) who is a Lieutenant JG in the Navy, and a daughter Mattie (22), a college junior at USC. Matt and I live in Yorba Linda with our sweet dog Peanut.
It is my goal to provide engaging instruction that challenges critical thinking skills, fosters intelligent discussion, and develops logical writing skills for every student. I believe that communication with parents is crucial to a successful year. Know that I am here with an open mind and a willingness to listen to any concerns that might arise throughout the year. Below is my school email address, as well as the school number.
I am looking forward to having a wonderful school year with both you and your child!
